Description
Ridge House is a luxury guesthouse overlooking Hermanus. Although just 1.6 km from the town center, it borders nature and sits right next to the Fernkloof Nature Reserve. Beautiful fynbos mountain trails start on the doorstep, and the famous Hermanus Cliff Path—home to some of the world’s best land-based whale watching in season—is nearby.
Comfortable accommodation is offered in 4 tastefully furnished suites, each with a private deck and stunning views. The spacious suites feature open-plan lounge areas, bedrooms, and luxurious en-suite bathrooms with walk-in showers or freestanding bathtubs. All suites are equipped with king-size beds made up with percale linen, large cotton towels, tea- and coffee-making facilities, free WiFi, a hairdryer, and a digital safe.
Three of the suites—The Aloe, Rockpool, and Botanical—each feature a private KolKol wood-fired hot tub on the deck with breathtaking views. These suites also offer private braai facilities and self-catering kitchenettes. The hot tubs and decks provide spectacular views over the fynbos and across Walker Bay.
Guests can also enjoy a central lounge, dining area, and bar with a deck boasting 180-degree panoramic views, perfect for watching both sunrise and sunset.
Breakfast is served in the dining area or, by arrangement, in the room. The focus is on fresh, local ingredients, and special dietary requirements can be accommodated.
The large, sheltered garden with a boma offers a relaxing evening experience under the stars. The garden is a haven for birds and small wildlife—guests can look forward to spotting guinea fowl, owls, sunbirds, and many other endemic species. The resident mongoose might even make an appearance. The guesthouse also offers secure parking, bicycle storage, and braai facilities in the garden.
