Description
Centrally situated in the Drakensberg, Rondo @ Hlwazini offers comfortable self-catering accommodation in a rustic dwelling built on the Hlwazini property, located through and next to the Ezemvelo Nature Reserve, in a yellow wood forest. Views of the mountain can be seen by walking a few meters to view points. This location, 37 km from Winterton, could be an ideal option for hikers, trail runners and nature lovers needing a peaceful getaway.
This cosy cottage can accommodate 4 guests at a time and comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. Access from the 2-bed Bedroom is through the main Bedroom. A shower, washbasin, and toilet are available in the bathroom downstairs. Linen and bath towels are provided. A plug for a hair dryer has been installed in the main Bedroom.
The open-plan living area features a well-equipped newly renovated kitchenette, that includes a 2-plate gas stove, cutlery, crockery, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and an electric fridge. Hot water is available at the kitchen zinc. Leading from the kitchen is a dining table and a lounge with comfortable seating, which boasts a pot-belly stove to keep the cottage warm on those cold winter days.
The living area opens up onto a covered patio with an outdoor dining table with 4 chairs and a braai drum and leads onto a wooden deck with a fire pit. We do supply one box of firewood. The chalet is completely off the grid and is powered by solar panels, a gas geyser for hot water, and water straight from a mountain stream.
Guests should be aware that baboons and monkeys do come into our area and will try and steal food inside if windows and doors are kept wide open.
