Description
Rooidam Cottage is a cosy off-the-grid cottage nestled on a working sheep farm located 26 km outside the town of Carnarvon, in the Karoo region. Guests can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing on the farm.
This cottage is suitable for 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, both with an en-suite bathroom. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed and its en-suite bathroom is fitted with a bath, toilet and basin. The second bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds while the en-suite bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet and basin. A single-day bed can be provided to accommodate a small child in the main bedroom.
The kitchen is equipped with a fridge-freezer, gas stove, and a dining table seating 4 guests. There is also a Dover stove to keep guests warm on chilly winter days. The living area features a cosy seating area and opens onto the lovely verandah.
Guests should please bear in mind that the cottage is operated by solar energy only and is not suitable for electric appliances such as hair styling equipment, kettles, or electric irons.
The farm is home to sheep as well as wildlife and guests should please be mindful of the animals on the farm and not distress them in any way during their stay.
