Description

Sani Lodge and Cottages is a Fair Trade Tourism-accredited sanctuary set on 30 hectares right next to the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg Park. This sprawling estate offers the perfect mountain escape for couples, families, and nature lovers seeking a blend of adventure and total relaxation.

Guests can choose from a selection of comfortable self-catering cottages and rondavels, each designed to make the most of the rugged scenery. The cottages feature fully equipped kitchens and cosy living areas where log fireplaces keep the mountain chill at bay. For a truly snug night’s sleep, beds are fitted with feather duvets and electric blankets. A standout feature of the Aloe, Honeyguide, Kingfisher, and Woodpecker units is the private wood-fired hot tub, offering a steamy soak with uninterrupted mountain views. Please note that these tubs take about 3 hours to reach the perfect temperature, so it’s best to give reception a heads-up in advance.

For larger groups, the Ntshitshi cottage accommodates 4 to 6 guests and includes 3 bedrooms, a well-equipped kitchenette with a coffee machine, and its own outdoor braai area.

Life at the lodge revolves around the great outdoors, with a swimming pool for summer days and a sunset deck that offers the best views in the house. The on-site restaurant and bar cater to every craving, serving up everything from hearty breakfasts and dinners to cocktails and local wines. Don’t miss the Craft and Farm Supplies Shop, which stocks locally made ceramics and fresh dairy treats—like cheese and ice cream—straight from the resident Jersey cows.
