SANParks Gannakouriep Wilderness Camp
Description
Each canvas cabin has its own unique design and contains a bedroom, bathroom, and a kitchen. The bedroom contains 2 single beds. The bathroom features a shower, toilet, a washbasin, and a gas geyser. The kitchen is equipped with a solar-powered fridge, gas stove, cooking utensils and cutlery and crockery. There are no plug points. The cabins have a 12-volt solar-powered lighting system, however, should problems occur with the lights, paraffin lanterns are available. Outside, each cabin has a patio with a table and chairs, and braai facilities.

Cash is not accepted at the camp.
All visitors aged 18 and older must present a valid identity document, passport, or alternative form of identification, such as a driver’s license.
Standard entrance fees apply:
Foreign visitors: R272 per day
SADC citizens: R144 per day
South African citizens with ID: R72 per day
Accommodation & Facilities
Huts at Gannakouriep Wilderness Camp will be swept and the area kept clean, but guests are responsible for washing dishes and making beds during their stay.
Water at Gannakouriep, Tatasberg, and Hakkiesdoring is not safe to drink; guests are advised to bring their own drinking water.
Guests must bring their own firewood.
Check-In & Arrival
Overnight visitors must arrive before 16:00 to reach campsites before dark.
Internal roads are rough farm tracks; a 4x4 vehicle with high ground clearance is required. Sedan vehicles are not permitted.
Due to sandy riverbeds and rough mountain passes, guests are advised to travel in a convoy.
Single vehicles must sign an agreement and report to the main office upon departure.
Guests may not drive around the park at night.
Driving off designated routes or outside campsites is strictly prohibited. It is harmful to the park and dangerous for visitors.
Safety & Supplies
Carry a spare wheel, tools, spare parts, sufficient food, and extra water containers.
Guests should always have a good supply of water.
Mobile phone signal is only available at the reception area or Sendelingsdrift.
There are no shops, restaurants, ATMs, or fuel in the park; guests must bring sufficient supplies for the entire stay.
Dew may form at night. Do not sleep on the ground due to scorpions. Bring blankets to protect against dust and wet towels from extreme heat. Bring clothing suitable for extreme temperatures.
Rules & Conduct
The use of drones within and over the national parks is strictly prohibited.
Smoking is prohibited inside the units. A designated smoking area may be provided.
Do not feed wildlife; feeding them may provoke aggression and endanger your life.
Limited outdoor lighting means guests should carry a headlamp when walking at night.
Pets are not permitted in the National Park.
