Description
Savannah Game & River Retreat is set on a 1,000-hectare game farm on the banks of the Vaal River, approximately 15 km from the artists’ village of Parys. Nestled within the Vredefort Dome World Heritage Area, the retreat is home to a variety of mammal species and offers an array of activities and facilities, including hiking trails, fishing spots, bird watching, game drives, mountain biking, picnics, stargazing, weddings, and conference facilities.
Guests can choose from a range of comfortable accommodation options, including tented chalets overlooking the bushveld, lodge rooms with views of the recreational area, or rondavels overlooking the swimming pool. All units feature en-suite bathrooms and tea-and-coffee-making facilities.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served on the viewing deck, in the lapa, or in the breakfast room, with in-room dining available by prior arrangement. A cash bar is also available on the premises, ensuring a relaxed and memorable stay in the heart of the Free State.
