Description
Saxon River Camp is a charming campsite located 14 km outside Albertinia, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a peaceful escape from the busy city. The campsite is reached via a 14 km dirt road with a stylish two-track winding path leading to the camp.
The campsite is situated on a private working farm, surrounded by beautiful aloes and gorges that will take your breath away. There are 6 camping sites along the banks of the Vals River, each accommodating up to 6 guests. The sites are suitable for tents as well as off-road caravans, but preferably not for road caravans. Each site offers stunning views of the river. Power points are available at each site, and shared ablution facilities include a shower and donkey geyser.
The power points run on solar energy, so please avoid using electric kettles or any high-power appliances. The campsite has no mobile signal, but you may get reception at the top end of the camp.
Guests can explore walking trails on the property, and for the adventurous, there is a zipline over the river. There is also a small boat available for rowing, as well as an off-road pool table.
