Quiet, relaxing, breathtakingly beautiful and very comfortable. It was definitely one for the books. The hiking trails, amenities, and quiet were top notch. Jurgen was a great host. We will definitely be back.

Unspoiled nature experience. It was a wonderful weekend. The surroundings are beautiful with untouched nature. The campsites are shady.

Quiet campsite, wonderfully equipped. None of the showers had hot water. Beautiful, peaceful campsite.

Dear Stehann Thanks for your review. Sorry for the late response, I only spotted it now. I just would have liked to reply to your disappointing experience at Simonskloof Mountain Retreat. Sadly I was away and could not meet you nor address your issue of the non existing hot water, which is definitely not acceptable and has never happen before, that I can tell you with certainty, as I built, maintain and clean our guest facilities personally or with occasional volunteers for over 25 years. Hence it is very embarrassing to fail on all 3 (!?) camp showers over a busy weekend. Not that this will change anything nor make you feel any better, instead, I like to offer you a free stay of 2 nights camping for 2 people, valid for a full year (until end of April 2026). No strings attached nor restrictions except our standard Terms & Conditions stated on our website. Simply contact us directly and copy/paste this response to remind me of my promise. Tranquil eco-friendly escape with top facilities, hikes, and amazing hosts! Simonskloof Mountain Reserve is an absolute gem – a 5 out of 5 experience! The reserve offers shady camping spots with a serene stream running through it, creating the perfect tranquil atmosphere. The facilities were top-notch, with impeccable showers and toilets. The hiking trails were incredible, leading to stunning rockfalls and breathtaking views. It was wonderfully quiet, making it the ideal getaway. The eco-friendly setup and the amazing hosts truly added to the charm. Highly recommended for nature lovers and those seeking peace and adventure in a pristine setting!

Peaceful, great views and hiking trails. If you're looking for a place to go fully off grid, but still have a good campsite with clean water and ablutions, this is it. The hikes are amazing with magnificent views.
