Description
Skilpad Spoortjies Mountain Retreat is a secluded self-catering unit situated in the scenic Langkloof near Kareedouw, approximately 5 km from the R62 via a gravel mountain pass. (Please note that a 4x4 vehicle or a capable vehicle with high ground clearance is required.) Surrounded by the Tsitsikamma and Zuuranys Mountains, the retreat offers expansive views of the mountains and indigenous fynbos. Plettenberg Bay and Jeffreys Bay are approximately 90 km away, Gqeberha is about 120 km away, and George is approximately 180 km away.
The private unit accommodates 2 guests and features an open-plan layout with a queen-size bed and a bathroom with a toilet. The shower is an outdoor shower located on the veranda, and there is no indoor shower. Linen and bath towels are provided.
The kitchenette is equipped for basic self-catering and includes a bar fridge, a two-plate gas stove, kettle, crockery, cutlery, and essential cooking utensils. Cooking oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, and milk are provided for guests' convenience. A small dining table seats 2 guests. Large doors and windows allow plenty of natural light and uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape.
The outdoor area features a veranda, patio, garden, outdoor dining area, braai facilities, and outdoor furniture with stunning mountain views. Secure parking is available behind a gate close to the unit. The retreat operates off the grid using solar power, with water supplied from storage tanks.
Guests can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and walking trails in and around the property.
