Description
Skilpad Spoortjies Mountain Retreat is a secluded self-catering unit situated in the scenic Langkloof near Kareedouw. Surrounded by the Tsitsikamma and Zuuranys mountain ranges, the retreat offers sweeping mountain views and a peaceful setting amongst indigenous fynbos.
The private unit accommodates up to 2 guests and features an open-plan layout furnished with a queen-size bed and a bathroom fitted with a toilet. Please note that there is no indoor shower. The shower is situated outdoors on the veranda. Linen and bath towels are provided.
The kitchenette is equipped for basic self-catering and includes a bar fridge, a two-plate gas stove, a kettle, cutlery, crockery, and essential cooking utensils. Cooking oil, salt, pepper, tea, coffee, and milk are provided for guests' convenience. A small dining table provides seating for 2 guests, while large windows and doors allow for plenty of natural light and uninterrupted views of the surrounding landscape.
The outdoor area features a veranda, patio, garden, outdoor dining area, braai facilities, and outdoor furniture with beautiful mountain views. Secure parking is available behind a gate near the unit. The retreat operates off-grid on solar power, with water supplied from rainwater tanks.
Guests can enjoy hiking, mountain biking, and walking trails in and around the property.
Please note that a 4x4 vehicle or a capable high-clearance vehicle is required to access the property. The mountain hut is situated approximately 5 km from the R62 via a gravel mountain pass. Guests travelling in a standard vehicle or small SUV are requested to contact the property in advance to make alternative arrangements for the final section of the journey.
