Somabula Nature Reserve’s Ballantine Ox Wagon is located on a game farm between Rayton and Cullinan, less than an hour’s drive from Pretoria and Johannesburg. It offers accommodation for 2 guests seeking a unique and tranquil retreat.
The sleeping area is set in an ox wagon, furnished with a double bed made up with linen. The bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and washbasin, and bath towels are supplied.
The adjacent kitchen area includes a fridge-freezer, crockery and cutlery, a gas stove, a kettle, and washing-up facilities. The braai area is conveniently located close to the kitchen. The spacing between units on the property ensures a good level of privacy for guests
Guests will encounter a wide variety of free-roaming wildlife, including giraffe, eland, blue wildebeest, nyala, zebra, red hartebeest, blesbok, and more. During this bush-style getaway, guests are welcomed by birdsong and the early evening calls of jackals at dusk.
Hiking trails, a 4x4 route, and mountain biking trails are available. Guests are welcome to bring binoculars, hiking shoes, bicycles, cameras, bird guides, braai equipment, and fire starters. This is truly a getaway where guests can unwind, reconnect, spend quality time together, and enjoy nature.
