Somabula Nature Reserve Outspan Ox Wagon Camp is located on a game farm between Rayton and Cullinan, less than an hour’s drive from Pretoria and Johannesburg. It offers accommodation for up to 8 guests seeking a peaceful getaway.

The camp features 4 charming ox wagons, each furnished with a double bed, a light, and a blanket, providing a nostalgic and unique experience. The well-equipped communal lapa includes a shared kitchen with washing facilities, basic crockery and cutlery, pots and pans, a fridge-freezer, a two-plate gas stove, a seating area, and a dining table with chairs for 8. Guests can also enjoy the nearby braai area. Neat ablution facilities behind the lapa include a shower, toilet, and basin.

Guests will encounter a wide variety of wildlife, including giraffes, elands, blue wildebeests, nyalas, zebras, red hartebeests, blesboks, and more, all roaming freely in the area. During the bush-style getaway, guests are greeted by birdsong and the early calls of jackals at dusk.

Walking trails, a 4x4 track, and mountain biking routes are available. Guests are welcome to bring binoculars, walking shoes, bicycles, cameras, bird guides, a braai grid, and fire starters.
This is the perfect retreat for relaxation, connection, quality time together, and immersion in nature.
