Fantastic stay and some of the best food I've had in South Africa. Absolutely fantastic. The accommodation and restaurant were amazing - it was such a nice getaway for my wife and me.

One of the most peaceful and memorable getaways we've had! What an incredible stay! Stanford Valley Guest Lodge was honestly one of the loveliest and most restful breakaways we've had in a very long time. From the moment you arrive, you're surrounded by beautiful mountains and the kind of peace and quiet that every busy mind needs. It's the perfect place to switch off and simply enjoy nature. We were also wonderfully surprised when we were upgraded to Waterblom House. We'd booked a one-bedroom cottage, so this was completely unexpected and such a generous gesture. Waterblom is a stunning, secluded three-bedroom Art Deco-style home, and it would be absolutely perfect for two couples or a family with children. The verandah became our favourite spot. It overlooks what feels like your own private pond, complete with frogs, birds, and all the wonderful sounds of nature. Add a braai, a large outdoor dining table, comfy couches, and a wood-fired hot tub, and you'll find it very hard to leave! Sitting outside with a cup of coffee in the morning or listening to the pond life at night was pure bliss. We also visited the beautiful Poplar Spa, which was the perfect way to spoil ourselves during our stay. Another absolute highlight was The Manor House Restaurant. We enjoyed almost every meal on the menu, and every one was delicious. It was such a treat not having to drive anywhere to find excellent food—it was literally right on our doorstep. Most of all, the staff made our stay extra special. Everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly. A heartfelt thank you to Lize, Jo, Atwell, Stefnie, and Elsabe for making our mid-July getaway so memorable. If you're looking for a peaceful escape near Stanford, I can't recommend Stanford Valley Guest Lodge highly enough. We left feeling completely relaxed, thoroughly spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back.

Much enjoyed! We initially booked one night as a stopover en route from CT to George, and decided that we should stay for another night and have a spa treatment. Beautiful location, delicious food and friendly staff. Well thought out from beginning to end, an ideal location for some R&R or a private function.

Very relaxing place to be. This is such a lovely place to stay. The staff are very well trained and professional. We were particularly impressed with the glorious pool area, so cleverly designed to avoid the wind. We also enjoyed visiting Stanford village with its variety of cafés and charming mid-century architecture.

Exceptional. We had an absolutely incredible stay at this lodge! From the moment we arrived, we were treated to exceptional service by the friendly and professional staff, who warmly welcomed us and showed us to our room. The room itself was stunning - immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, and utterly charming. And the breakfast? Truly unforgettable - the best we've had in a long time! Wonderful peacefulstay in beautiful surroundings! We really liked Stanford Guest Farm and the service was excellent. The restaurant is top class and the views great! The rooms are large and comfortable. Swimming in the dam was exhilarating. I did find it a bit pricey in comparison to the other comparative places we stayed in on this holiday but we shall certainly return one day!
