Tamboershoek is a working sheep and game farm that offers a chalet that can sleep a family or group of 4.
The chalet offers panoramic views from the patio and features two en-suite bedrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a king-size bed, while the second bedroom contains two single beds. Both en-suite bathrooms are equipped with showers.
The open-plan living area has a kitchen that is equipped with a gas fridge-freezer, a gas stove with an oven, and a dining area. The living area also has an indoor fireplace for the chilly Karoo nights. An outdoor braai area is also available, and a hot tub is available to cool off in or to warm up.
Please note that the chalet is now powered by solar energy, with ceiling fans fitted with lights. Additional lighting is provided by oil lamps and rechargeable lights, and hot water is supplied by a gas geyser. Mobile phone and television reception are not available within the unit. Wi-Fi is accessible near the parking area and the main house, and can also be reached from the hill adjacent to the chalet.
The farm is reached by a gravel road, and a high-clearance vehicle is recommended, although a 4x4 vehicle is not necessary. There is more than 1 route available; guests need to enquire for a route that will best suit their needs. Routes to the farm are also popular with semi-off-road touring motorcycle enthusiasts.
Guests are welcome to explore the farm on foot, by bakkie, or by bicycle, with birdwatching encouraged throughout the property. Scenic routes are available within the game camp, including a trail leading to a waterfall. Wildlife on the farm includes blesbok, springbok, blue wildebeest, gemsbok, kudu, the rare klipspringer, and more, providing an immersive and natural experience for visitors.
