A peaceful, family-friendly Christmas getaway in a beautifully equipped house. We recently stayed at Teal and Trout in Dullstroom for a family holiday and had an absolutely amazing experience. We booked the self-catering accommodation and travelled with our family, including young children, and it truly exceeded all our expectations. The house itself is very spacious, making it perfect for a family stay. The directions were easy to follow, and from the moment we arrived, we felt at home. The house is exceptionally well-equipped—honestly, the best-equipped self-catering place we’ve ever stayed in. We’ve travelled a lot, and this was the first time we found everything we needed already there, including a washing machine, which was a lifesaver while travelling with kids. We spent Christmas at Teal and Trout, and it was incredibly special. The beautiful fireplace made rainy days cosy and memorable, especially in the evenings. The house stayed cool during the afternoons and warm and inviting at night. We also really appreciated that the property is fully off-grid and solar-powered—yet we never experienced any issues with electricity. The surroundings are absolutely spectacular. The property is peaceful, safe, and extremely well-kept, offering a truly tranquil escape. The dams on the property are stunning, and we loved going on picnics with the kids, walking by the river, and simply enjoying nature together. Not only is Teal and Trout a wonderful place to stay, but it’s also very affordable, especially considering the quality, comfort, and experience it offers. We had an unforgettable Christmas holiday there and would highly recommend it to families looking for a beautiful, relaxing getaway. We can’t wait to return.

! It was beautiful, serene and so relaxing. A nice touch was the little games for toddlers. The estate manager was also so lovely. Overall, the stay was amazing.
