Description
Teal and Trout Lodge is situated in Machadodorp and offers a spacious family retreat set on a private 1-hectare stand within an environmental estate. The lodge is positioned overlooking one of the estate’s tranquil lakes and provides direct access to several fly-fishing dams, making it ideal for anglers, nature lovers, and families seeking a peaceful countryside escape.
Accommodation is offered in a 5-bedroom lodge that sleeps 10 adults downstairs, while the upstairs loft sleeps 6 children in bunk beds. Bedroom 1 contains a queen-size bed and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, and toilet. Bedroom 2 also contains a queen-size bed with an en-suite bathroom fitted with a bath, shower, and toilet. Bedrooms 3 and 4 each contain 2 single beds and have en-suite bathrooms fitted with a bath, shower, and toilet. Bedroom 5 contains a small queen-size bed suitable for a single guest or helper and has an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower and toilet. The loft shares the use of the bathrooms downstairs. An additional guest toilet is available. Bed linen and bath towels are provided.
The lodge features expansive living and entertainment areas, including a large lounge with an open fireplace, 2 dining areas, a sunroom, a bar, and an indoor braai area. The kitchen, scullery, and washroom are fully equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, breakfast bar, washing machine, and tumble dryer. A dining table suitable for large groups is provided.
Outdoor facilities include a firepit and boma area, outdoor dining space, a braai area, a garden, and scenic views across the estate. Secure on-site parking is provided. Guests can enjoy activities such as fly-fishing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, hiking, bush walks, game drives, and game viewing. A nearby golf course is also available. The estate offers abundant wildlife, flora, and tranquil natural surroundings.
