Tevreden Cottage – Rhodes is a charming, old-world cottage adorned with museum-quality memorabilia, located in the scenic village of Rhodes along the trout-rich Bell River in the Eastern Cape. This stylish retreat offers comfort and character, making it ideal for families, friends, or groups seeking a tranquil getaway.

The cottage comprises 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, accommodating up to 9 guests. The first and second bedrooms feature king-size beds, while the third bedroom has a queen-size bed. An additional 3 single beds are available in the loft area. The main bathroom is fitted with both a bath and a shower, and the second bathroom has a shower.

The open-plan living area includes a dining space and a lounge with multiple fireplaces, a TV, and comfortable seating. The kitchen is fully equipped with a double-door fridge-freezer, gas stove, oven, air fryer, bread maker, toaster, kettle, and microwave. Guests can bring along some coffee beans and enjoy making coffee using the old-style coffee grinder and percolator. A slightly separate scullery contains a double-basin sink and a washing machine.

The outdoor area features a modern built-in braai, a rocket-style braai, and a pizza oven, with sufficient wood provided for the first night’s stay.

Rhodes is a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts, offering trout fishing, bird watching, hiking trails, and 4x4 or dirt-bike adventures across at least 16 spectacular mountain passes. Guests can also enjoy Cordon Bleu dining at boutique restaurants, casual meals at the eccentric Walkerbouts Inn, or classic fare at the historic Rhodes Hotel. Tennis courts are available for hire, providing further recreational options.
