Great value for money!! The Beach House was spacious and clean. Enjoyed the ocean view from balcony and the lovely indoor fireplace. Only recommendation. I would make is for a supporting rail on staircase to upstairs entertainment area especially for ou ballies like us.

Perfect surf weekend. The location was perfect for the surfers among us; the house was well supplied for braaing and catering, and we had a lovely weekend.

Amazing family getaway at The Beach House, Elands Bay. We stayed at The Beach House in Elands Bay as a family of 2 adults and 6 kids, and we honestly had the best time. The house was comfortable, spacious, and perfectly suited for a big family. The location is unbeatable, close to the beach, peaceful, and ideal for kids to play and relax while the adults unwind. Everything we needed for a self-catering stay was available, and the home felt welcoming and well looked after. We especially loved spending quality family time on the balcony (sunrise and sunsets), enjoying breakfast, lunches, and dinners together, and unwinding in the hot tub, which was a real highlight for all of us. The WiFi was super fast and the kids had no complaints there either. These moments truly made our stay special. A special mention to the manager, who was excellent with communication throughout our stay, and the property assistant, who made check-in smooth and hassle-free. Their friendliness and professionalism really added to the experience. Our kids absolutely loved it, and we made some beautiful family memories. We would definitely recommend The Beach House to families looking for a relaxed, fun, and stress-free West Coast getaway. We can’t wait to come back soon!

Not a pleasant experience. Overall experience. While the property has a few appealing features, our overall stay was negatively impacted by several operational and maintenance issues that affected comfort and convenience. Areas of concern / disadvantages. • Check-in challenges: There was significant confusion regarding our check-in dates, which caused unnecessary inconvenience upon arrival. • Key collection issues: The key was not located where we were advised it would be, further complicating access to the property. • Delayed check-in: We were unable to check in at the expected time as the onsite caretaker was not present upon arrival. • Caretaker professionalism: The caretaker lacked professionalism—he was not dressed appropriately, did not offer a proper welcome, and did not present himself in a manner consistent with his role. • Appliance preparedness: The fridge was not switched on in advance and was only turned on by the caretaker after his arrival, while we were already waiting. • Cleanliness: The property was not thoroughly cleaned, with visible spiderwebs in corners of the rooms. • Electricity issues: The power went out during our stay due to a lack of prepaid electricity, requiring the owner to be contacted to resolve the situation. • Hot tub condition: The hot tub was neither cleaned nor filled with water. • Loft access safety: The loft sleeping area is not safely accessible, requiring guests to climb on large wooden boxes instead of a proper staircase, which is neither safe nor suitable for adults. • Water supply communication: There were water supply issues due to maintenance in the area, but this was not communicated to us prior to our stay. • Bathroom availability: The property accommodates up to 8 guests but only has one bathroom, which is not ideal for a group of that size. • Bathroom hygiene: There was no hand soap in the bathroom and only one and a half toilet rolls (we had to purchase a few more at the local store). • Layout inefficiency: The house layout is inconvenient, with the entertainment area upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, requiring frequent movement between levels. • Wood: We had to buy our own wood for the hot tub as well as for the braai area. Positive aspects / advantages. • Reliable Wi-Fi: There were no issues with the Wi-Fi during our stay. • Scenic location: The property offers a pleasant view, contributing to a relaxing atmosphere. • Proximity to beach: The accommodation is within walking distance of the beach, which is a definite highlight. Conclusion. While the property has potential due to its location and views, the number of operational shortcomings and lack of proper maintenance significantly impacted our experience. Improved communication, housekeeping, and overall management would greatly enhance the quality of stay for future guests.
