The Hayloft is a light-filled solar-powered cottage set within established cottage gardens in the heart of Hilton. Designed with an eco-friendly, upcycled approach, it offers a relaxed and spacious country stay ideal for guests who appreciate comfort, simplicity, and room to unwind.
The setting is peaceful and unhurried, with the sounds of nature carrying through the gardens from morning to night. The property forms part of a small working homestead environment and is home to three rescue donkeys, free-range chickens, and friendly rescue dogs, adding gentle character to the surroundings.
Inside, the cottage has an easy, open-plan feel. It features a queen-size bed fitted with electric blankets and an en-suite bathroom with a walk-in shower, basin, and loo. The layout and scale of the space make it particularly well suited to longer stays or guests who prefer a more generous living environment.
A wood-burning fireplace anchors the living space, creating warmth and comfort during cooler evenings, with Sherpa blankets provided for added cosiness. Guests can enjoy a Smart TV with Netflix for entertainment, and fibre Wi-Fi is available throughout the cottage for work or leisure.
The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering and includes a gas hob, full fridge, microwave, crockery, and essential utensils, allowing guests to prepare meals with ease during their stay. Complimentary tea, coffee, and fresh milk are provided on arrival.
Large garden areas surround the cottage, offering open space to sit, relax, and enjoy the fresh air throughout the day. BBQ facilities are available for outdoor cooking and relaxed evening meals under the sky.
The Hayloft offers a comfortable countryside base close to Hilton’s schools, restaurants, shops, and the wider attractions of the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands, making it suitable for both short visits and extended stays.
