In the ancient Namib Desert, surrounded by the majestic Tsaris Mountains and endless flat gravel plains, you’ll find the Elegant Desert Camp, a mere 45 km from Sesriem. Here the sky melts into the endless plains in a vista so vast it will take your breath away. The utter tranquillity and extraordinary clarity of light make this area one of Africa’s most compelling landscapes; this secluded little gem welcomes our guests to a world of vast spaces, endless horizons and jagged mountain heights.

Accommodation is offered in 10 individual custom-built and meticulously planned canvas tents, nestled carefully among rugged boulders. Each tent features an indoor and outdoor shower, and an outside viewing deck. Each tent envelope guests in pure privacy and offer uninterrupted desert views.

The camp offers a large sundowner deck on top of the mountain, and a crystal clear pool embedded between the rocks which provides the most exquisite views of the awesome landscape unfolding before you. Swim in the refreshing rock pool or unwind with an ice-cold beer at the hand-crafted bar with 360-degree rotating hanging chairs. Just sit back, relax and let the magnificent views gently caress your soul.

The Elegant Desert Camp is part of the Elegant Collection. Treat yourself to a laid back lunch at the nearby Elegant Desert Lodge with a bottle of fine South African wine from our extensive range, handpicked by the owners. In the afternoon you can unwind at the Elegant Desert Lodge or return to the Elegant Desert Camp to enjoy the magnificent vistas, both from your tents’ deck or the pool deck on the mountain side. Take a drink at the pool bar and recline to marvel at the sun-drenched desert plains. You might also opt for the scenic drive with spectacular views overlooking the vast gravel plains contrasted with the Tsaris and Naukluft mountain massifs of the Namib Desert

Dinner is a Namibian affair in the open sky boma under infinite stars, next to a traditional fireplace where legendary braai’s are prepared by friendly and enthusiastic chefs.
