Description

The Hideout is tucked among the trees along the Bomvu River, where it opens into the Indian Ocean. It offers travellers a secure and private place to stay, with a quick and easy barefoot walk to the beach and nearby village activities.

The Bus is a cool and funky tiny home creatively built around a large, restored cross-country truck. It comfortably accommodates a couple and features a spacious, comfortable couch that can be converted into a bed for a child or teenager. The unit includes a double bed with views over the garden bordering the river. Guests can step out onto the deck to relax among the trees while enjoying views down the river toward the ocean.

Attached to the truck is a living area that leads to a spacious shower room with a toilet, followed by a kitchen. The kitchen is equipped with a gas oven, fridge-freezer, and basic utensils required for food preparation. A small breakfast counter provides a convenient space for sit-down meals.

Guests have access to a nearby braai area overlooking the lawn, offering ample space for games and for dogs to roam freely. A private gate from this area provides direct beach access. Braai wood and ice are available for purchase, and guests are encouraged to advise in advance of their requirements. Secure parking and on-site security are provided.

The unit is accessed from the main residential area, with parking available directly outside.

The owner and manager reside on-site, along with a few dogs of varying sizes, as well as cats, ducks, and chickens. The Hideout is pet-friendly, and the resident dogs are always happy to make new friends.

While The Hideout itself is peaceful, its central location means guests may occasionally experience village sounds, including drumming and general community activity. The nearest local store is located 17 km away, so guests are advised to stock up on supplies before arrival. Coffee Bay offers a selection of good restaurants, and for guests interested in a breakfast option, arrangements can be made with a sister property upon request.
