Peaceful, pet-friendly getaway with welcoming hosts. We had an amazing stay at this lovely holiday cottage! The place was quiet, peaceful, and exactly what we needed for a relaxing getaway. The owners were incredibly welcoming and accommodating, making us feel right at home from the moment we arrived. One of the highlights for us was the spacious yard – it was perfect for letting our dogs roam free and enjoy the outdoors. We truly had a great time and would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a serene escape.

Spacious, cosy, peaceful and pet friendly. We stayed in Clove Cottage. The open-plan layout is spacious yet cosy, with every detail thoughtfully considered. Soft textures, beautiful lighting, handcrafted furniture and calming neutral tones create a space that's stylish without ever feeling overdone. One of our favourite things has been how pet friendly it is. The girls settled in immediately, claimed the sofas as their own, explored the enclosed garden and spent hours relaxing in the sunshine. It's one of those rare places where both you and your dogs feel completely welcome. The cottage is fully equipped with everything needed for a comfortable stay, including a well-appointed kitchen, luxurious bedding, a beautiful bathroom, comfortable indoor and outdoor living spaces, a private braai area and backup power, so you can simply arrive and unwind. What makes Clove Cottage even more special is how it reflects the vision behind House on the Hill. They haven't simply furnished a cottage. They've created an experience, using pieces from their own South African furniture brand to give the space its distinctive character and warmth. If you're looking for a peaceful escape close to Johannesburg, where thoughtful design meets genuine hospitality and your four-legged family members are welcomed too, Clove Cottage deserves a spot on your list.
