Description

The House on the Hill is a self-catering cottage located at the top end of Long Street in the quaint village of McGregor. The cottage is one of the older cottages in town, dating from 1865. Recently a contemporary studio has been added to allow for additional accommodation near the pool with an optional vintage caravan that dates back to the 1930's .

The main cottage can comfortably accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom and a kitchen and living area. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed, and the second bedroom is furnished with 2 single beds. The bathroom is fitted with a bath and a shower.

The kitchen is equipped with a stove and oven, a fridge, a microwave, a kettle and a toaster. The cosy living area contains comfy seating, and free Wi-Fi is available.

The front of the main house offers a languid stoep that awaits your morning coffee and alfresco meals at a rustic table with seating. The backdoor opens on another smaller stoep with seating that leads to the braai facilities and an unfenced swimming pool area. Plenty of off-street parking is available.

The studio cottage offers accommodation on a Queen-sized bed set in an open-plan space which steps onto a large stoep at the edge of the swimming pool. The kitchenette offers a microwave oven, kettle, toaster, fridge and invection hot-plate. The bathroom offers a glass-topped sky-view shower and a secret outside bath for star-gazing soaks after lazy days. Completing the picture at the studio is the vintage caravan, that took its first journey across Dutoitskloof in the 1930's and it's last in 2022 to rest at House on the Hill. The caravan offers two single beds, ideal for a family with adventurous children.

All in all, House on the Hill offers a eclectic and comfortable break from city life. Visitors can elect to book either the original house or the studio, or both. Together it can accomodate 8 people. Whichever option is chosen, guests will have the entire property to themselves.

The property is situated directly opposite the entrance to a reserve which is great for walking in the koppies.
