The Lion Lodge Vaal offers a relaxing riverside escape on the banks of the Vaal River in Lindequesdrif, just 25 km from both Parys in the Free State and Vanderbijlpark in Gauteng. This family-friendly destination is ideal for fishing enthusiasts, nature lovers, and travellers seeking a peaceful self-catering break.
Accommodation is offered in a variety of fully equipped self-catering chalets, including units that sleep between 4 and 18 guests. Each chalet has a private fishing spot, and guests can enjoy the comfort of air-conditioning, a TV, and a well-equipped kitchen featuring a fridge-freezer, stove, oven, microwave, kettle, and toaster. Each unit also includes a built-in braai and picnic tables in the outdoor space, ideal for relaxed meals alongside the river.
On-site facilities include a large entertainment area with 2 swimming pools; one with a built-in slide and another for children, as well as a jungle gym, trampoline, and swings. A collection of vintage cars can also be viewed on the premises, and horse rides are available at an additional cost. A convenience store at The Lioness Reception stocks essential items including Halaal braai meat, snacks, cool drinks, wood, and charcoal. Guests can also treat themselves to soft-serve ice cream and flavoured milkshakes from the on-site soft-serve bar.
