Description
The Red Caboose Train Carriage is a unique, restored 1941 SAR Caboose carriage situated on Red Earth Farm in the Breede River Valley. The carriage is located 4 km from McGregor and 15 km from Robertson, where guests can enjoy a relaxing getaway, experiencing panoramic valley and mountain views.
The carriage can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children, and comprises 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and a kitchen. The main bedroom contains a double bed, while the second bedroom is furnished with a bunk bed for 2 children. The bathroom is fitted with a bath, a toilet, and a washbasin.
The kitchen is equipped for self-catering and contains a stove, oven, bar fridge-freezer, tea- and coffee-making facilities, and cutlery and crockery. There is also a nostalgic indoor dining booth. Free Wi-Fi access is provided.
The property features an outdoor gazebo with a picnic table, a fire pit for braais, and a private wood-fired hot tub. Secure parking is available on the premises. The farm is situated within close proximity of Vrolijkheid Nature Reserve, local wine farms, and the Eseltjiesrus Donkey Sanctuary.
