Wonderful, modern and comfortable. Great stay at The Unbound. A wonderfully modern home that didn't feel too stiff or curated. Brilliant attention to detail and every single thing was carefully thought through and designed with comfort in mind. The home fits beautifully into the environment and our stay was an exquisite experience.

Beautiful property, disappointing host communication. The property itself is beautiful, and we genuinely enjoyed our stay with friends. Although the host did warn us about the road conditions, the road turned out to be worse than we expected. The Wi-Fi connection was very poor throughout our stay and was practically unusable during the last day. We also experienced significant power limitations during our stay, which had not been communicated to us in advance. After check-out, the host contacted us regarding food left behind, some unwashed dishes, and beds that had been moved during our stay. We apologised and offered to cover any additional cleaning costs if extra work was required. What disappointed us most was not the complaint itself, but the tone of the communication that followed. In many years of travelling and staying in rental properties, I have never experienced this kind of interaction with a host. It is a pity because the property itself is lovely, but the way this situation was handled left us with a negative final impression.

We appreciate the kind words about the property, but we need to correct several points for future guests. The road conditions are clearly described in our home guide: high-clearance vehicles are recommended (no 4x4 needed), and a shuttle service is available on request. This is a fully off-grid solar property, clearly disclosed in our home guide and on a live control panel showing battery status. We contacted the guest twice during their stay to flag high consumption and the risk of depleting the batteries, with no response. The batteries were subsequently drained, which caused the WiFi and power issues described — a result of consumption, not an undisclosed limitation. Regarding checkout: this was not a matter of some food and unwashed dishes. Cooked meat had been left directly on our American White Oak dining table, and the juices stained the wood, which will now need to be resanded. Broken glasses were left on the deck, unattended and unsafe. A pull-up cord on our motorised blinds was broken off. Furniture had been moved throughout the house in violation of a clearly stated house rule, in place specifically to protect the floors, and nothing was returned to its place. The house was left in a mess. We don't expect our guests to clean when they leave; we will happily do that. After years of hosting, we do however have a very good frame of reference of how respectful guests will normally treat and leave our home. We are happy to share photos with any concerned future host. We stand by having raised these issues directly, factually, and respectfully.

Exceptional and unique accommodation and experience. Overall an exceptional accommodation, very well designed and presented, with outstanding finishes and quality. Willem was very helpful on arrival day - I didn't receive the access code ahead of time nor clear travel instructions. The last 3 km gravel road was okay for a high-level car, although one or two areas were a bit marginal; with a 4x4, it would not be an issue. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and will definitely return.

We had a wonderful stay and visit. Our children from Europe enjoyed the heat. The Unbound is a beautiful place. The house is tastefully furnished and very well equipped.
