Amazing. Village Villa was definitely an amazing venue. We were happy with everything.

It was great! It felt like home away from home. Next time the stay would be longer. The house is beautiful, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

The place is nice, but more effort is needed to make it truly welcoming. Pros: The place is aesthetically pleasing. I love the spekboom and other flora growing at the back and the front, and the beautiful lawns (also both front and back). The spa bath is lovely and works properly - and is very relaxing! Very quick response to issues in the daytime: the spa bath plug wasn't functioning properly. Service personnel were on site in minutes addressing the issue and it was quickly resolved. The house is very spacious, and the sunroom in front is a really lovely place to sit and eat. Cons: Lack of privacy at the back. The backyard is not walled off and opens onto a truly lovely and peaceful large expanse of lawn and trees. Unfortunately, this appears to be a shared space with the owners' wedding venue/restaurant operations. On the Saturday we were there, a jumping castle had been set up in this area and we were made to feel rather unwelcome when venturing out the back. We ended up just keeping the back door closed and using only the house and the front lawn. The acoustics are horrible: sound from both the sunroom and the lounge echoes and carries, disturbing others. It is not really well provisioned for self-catering. For example, there isn't a sharp knife available if you want to cut meat. It wasn't properly cleaned, e.g. the microwave was dirty. No assistance in the evening. The floodlight over the braai area stopped working within minutes of it first switching on. After reporting the issue (at about 6pm), I received a few suggestions of trying various light switches and moving to activate the light sensor, and then an apology when none of the suggestions worked. It was not pleasant braaing in the dark. No bottled water for drinking, or mini-bottles of shampoo, shower gel, etc. provided. I've been to many holiday houses over the years and it is normally provided. However, Vintage Villa does not. Also, 5 sticks of coffee sachets (for a 2-night stay with 5 adults/teenagers) feels a bit stingy. These are cheap, small things but make a big difference to guests' experiences. Conclusion: The place itself is nice, but a little more effort is required to improve a guest's experience from "okay" to "enjoyable."
