Thota Lodge Weaver Bird is situated in the vast southern Kalahari Desert of the Northern Cape, ideally positioned en route to Botswana and the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park. This peaceful retreat invites guests to experience the natural beauty and tranquillity of the Kalahari, offering a charming farm-style courtyard setting in a rugged, unspoiled environment.
Accommodation is offered in 3 self-catering rooms, each sleeping 2 adults and 1 child. The rooms are comfortably furnished with 2 single beds that can be converted into a king-size bed on request, along with a mattress or cot for a child. Each room features an en-suite bathroom fitted with a shower, and linen and bath towels are provided.
Each unit includes a kitchenette equipped with a microwave, single-plate induction hob, bar fridge, cutlery, crockery, and tea- and coffee-making facilities—perfect for light self-catering. Guests also have access to a communal garden and braai (barbecue) area, ideal for relaxing outdoors.
Guests are welcome to explore designated walking paths on the farm and enjoy authentic farm experiences such as milking cows or visiting the vegetable garden. For the more adventurous, nearby 4x4 self-drive routes offer a great way to explore the surrounding landscape.
The area is a haven for birdwatchers and nature lovers, with more than 100 recorded bird species, as well as a variety of insects and wildlife, making it an ideal destination for those seeking a true Kalahari escape.
