Description
Tiru is a privately owned house situated inside Mabalingwe, a Big 5 game reserve 28 km from Bela Bela and 140 km from Pretoria. Enjoy the ultimate bushveld experience, with the ultimate lapa, where you can sit around a fire underneath a well-designed thatch, with all the facilities next to you, including canvas to control wind flow, build-in braai, Weber or gas braai and large table to socialise around. Sit on the deck and enjoy breath-taking views over the reserve, while animals and birds come very close. The water temperature of the heated splash pool can be set to your ideal temperature for all day enjoyment. Enjoy the hot tub and hanging chairs under the trees at the swimming pool or in the lapa.
The lodge is situated within close proximity of Mabalingwe's recreational facilities, including tennis courts, a mini-golf course, squash courts, swimming pools and a convenience shop, as well as the restaurant, a boma, a bar, hot and cold pools, and sauna rooms. Mabalingwe offers an excellent entertainment program which includes a wide range of adventure activities such as guided game viewing, horse riding and various predators feeding by prior arrangement. Guests are also allowed to enter the game viewing area with their own vehicles, ensuring that you have maximum time to enjoy the wild and bird life.
The lodge sleeps 9 people. It has 2 bedrooms with king-sized beds and 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, 3 single beds on the upper loft and 2 bathrooms. The rooms are air-conditioned.
The kitchen is fully equipped with an oven, microwave oven, a large fridge with freezer, two smaller bar fridges ice machine and a dishwasher.
Other facilities at the house includes air-conditioning in rooms, fans, wooden deck leading to heated swimming pool and hanging chairs under trees. There is a flat screen TV with full DStv. There are choices between a build-in braai, Weber and a gas braai (ideal for making a brunch). Guests would on most weekends on request be allowed to leave late afternoon.
A water tank with pressure pump has been installed to address potential water interruptions often caused by elephants.

A refundable breakage deposit of R2 000 is payable directly to the property.
We do charge a breakage deposit fee depending on the amount of guests from R2000 to a max of 1 days rent, this is payable with the balance of payment prior to arrival. This is refunded within a week of departure and is NOT included in the quotation.
Arrangements can be made directly with Mabalingwe for the many additional services that they supply like horse riding, feeding of the lions and hyenas.
