Description

Verloren Lodge is located on a wildlife estate between Modimolle and Bela Bela, on the southern edge of the Waterberg Biosphere. This region is renowned for its rich biodiversity and its strong focus on wildlife, tourism and agriculture. Verloren Lodge is the ideal destination for nature lovers in search of a peaceful and relaxing retreat.

The lodge offers three units. Unit 1 sleeps two adults and two children aged up to 17 years. Unit 2 sleeps two adults and two children aged up to 12 years. Unit 3 sleeps two adults and one child aged up to 14 years. Units 2 and 3 are similar in size and offer a spacious, comfortable layout. Unit 1 is a larger, double-storey unit and includes a private stoep.

Each unit features an open-plan lounge and a kitchenette equipped with crockery, cutlery, cooking utensils, a fridge, microwave, air fryer, toaster, grater and more. The bedroom has a private en-suite bathroom. All units have a private entrance, a braai area and views over the wild veld and its Bushveld inhabitants.

Free Wi-Fi is available, and guests have access to secure parking in a safe and enclosed environment. Guests who would like to make a potjie on the fire are welcome to do so, but are kindly asked to bring their own pot.

The property uses solar energy for electricity and clean, refreshing borehole water. On rare occasions, the batteries powered by 65 solar panels may be depleted during the early morning hours. As soon as daylight returns, the system begins to recharge, and staff will reset it. For this reason, each unit is equipped with a flask that can be filled with hot water the evening before, so guests can still enjoy an early morning coffee even during a brief interruption.

Activities at the lodge include mountain biking, hiking, photography, birdwatching, wildlife spotting and swimming in the communal farm dam. Guests are welcome to enjoy a braai under the sunny skies or at night, accompanied by the sounds of nightjars, jackals and other wildlife, all right on the edge of the bush.

Nearby attractions include the Cheetah Rehabilitation Centre, Thaba Kwena Crocodile Farm, Thaba Monate Zipline, Bambelela Vervet Monkey Care Centre, Weesgerus Hot Water Springs, Koro Creek Golf Estate and Walking with Elephants.

Guests can also enjoy a variety of restaurants, local shops and supermarkets in Modimolle, located 11 km away, and Bela Bela, 16 km from the lodge.
