Description
Windmill Cottage is a stylish, secluded self-catering retreat nestled at the foot of the mountains in the southwestern Tankwa Karoo. Surrounded by unspoilt wilderness, it offers a tranquil escape for guests seeking privacy, nature, and a true off-grid experience.
The cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Both bedrooms are furnished with queen-size beds, while the bathroom is fitted with a shower, toilet, and basin. An additional outdoor shower and bath are also available for a more immersive natural experience. For families, there is an optional sleeping space for 2 smaller children on a mezzanine level in one of the bedrooms, arranged in advance with the host.
The open-plan living area includes a fully equipped kitchen with a stove, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, cutlery, and crockery, along with provided essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar, oil, and condiments. The lounge features comfortable seating, a dining area, and a cosy fireplace, with firewood supplied.
The living space opens onto a spacious covered verandah with an outdoor dining area, built-in braai, loungers, and a luxurious outdoor double bed. A plunge pool and a heated plunge pool offer additional relaxation, complemented by a cargo-net stargazing platform.
The cottage operates fully off-grid with solar power and LPG gas, ensuring reliable electricity and hot water. Guests can also enjoy hiking and mountain biking trails across the farm, along with opportunities to experience the surrounding endemic wildlife and birdlife.
