Zaagkuilsdrift Bird Sanctuary & Lodge is a privately protected birding destination situated near Pienaarsrivier, Limpopo, on the edge of the renowned Kgomo-Kgomo floodplain. Surrounded by bushveld, wetlands and open grasslands, the lodge offers a peaceful escape where nature and exceptional birdlife take centre stage. In 2026, Zaagkuilsdrift was proudly voted Best Birding Accommodation in Southern Africa by The Birding Life, recognising its commitment to creating a truly bird-focused destination.
The lodge offers a variety of accommodation options suited to both dedicated birders and nature lovers. Comfortable chalets feature well-appointed bedrooms and private bathrooms with showers, toilets and basins. For those seeking a more immersive outdoor experience, the campsites provide shaded stands with access to clean, well-maintained ablution facilities.

Please note that summer is our rainy season and, as we are located on a floodplain, access roads can be affected by water and mud from time to time. A high-clearance vehicle is recommended, especially after heavy rain.
