Home away from home! Tracy was a stellar host; she went out of her way to make my stay memorable. The cottage was beautiful, cozy, clean and the bed will be sorely missed. I can't recommend the cottage enough.

Awesome business and leisure visit. Fantastic hostess (and her mother) made our stay memorable. Avo Cottage is equipped with everything necessary for business as well as leisure travel. A major bonus is the safe, off-street parking and no load shedding!

As above. Bad smell in the apartment, blinds are broken and walls by the bed and bathroom are dirty. The rest is very nice.

Quiet and peaceful, but the unit needs maintenance. The accommodation is compact and cute, very safe and quiet with everything you need. The hostess is very friendly and helpful. Parking is safe in a closed garage. The unit is neat, but has not been properly cleaned in a long time and urgently needs maintenance. The wooden windows and doors are difficult to open and close, there is no burglar alarm and the room needs a good coat of paint inside (walls are peeling) and the blinds in the bathroom are broken. The shower needs a good cleaning and resealing. The outdoor seating area is nice and private, but the chairs are no longer sturdy and need new seating surfaces. Not a bad stay, but think it could be improved with a little attention.

Thank you for your feedback. I only wish that you had informed me of some of these issues while staying with us. As I always tell guests, please let me know! So I can attend to your concerns/fix any problems to make your stay as best as possible (without waiting to hear via reviews and ensure the next guests will not endure similar problems if we are not able to attend to them sooner). Just to update and provide a response to your concerns: I do agree with you to ensure cleanliness and the need to maintain things like a fresh coat of paint. I do not, however, want guests to inhale paint fumes upon arrival or during their stay, so the timing of this had to wait until low season (winter). The wooden doors and windows can "warp or swell" due to the weather, yet we have very quickly and easily seen to this. The blinds all work and only the bathroom blind had one slat (wooden Venetian vane) that was broken, missing only half of the line of slat. There is permanently security - there is an electric fence surrounding the property and beams along with ADT services. A safety box is also provided within the cottage for personal items. Outside chairs have been replaced. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. I hope that you will stay again and appreciate the feedback.

Okay, but not amazing. In defence, we were not there often. We were out most of the time. Bedding — I’ve got no complaints, very good! But the toilet entrance from the kitchen is not good — the photos on the website don’t show this. The place needs serious painting, there is mould on the ceilings, and the blind in the bathroom is broken. We had to put paper inside the window to make sure no one could see us showering through it. There were spider webs in the lampshades. The front door was so stiff we couldn’t open it with ease — because of this, the handle broke off. We had to use a wheel spanner to open the door. I’ve got photos to show on request — please send me an email address and I’ll forward them. My brother rented a place for almost the same price in Constantia. Absolutely no comparison.

Just an amazing stay. Thank you Tracey. We felt immediately at home. What a wonderful place. Tracey, is an amazing host. She makes all very comfortable, and assisted with our retired geriatric Labrador in such a containing manner - I haven't experienced such unconditional hospitality.
