Our stay was miserable because of the grandmother acting like a class monitor. Our stay was miserable. The mother of the owner was constantly nagging us about noise even when it was just two people talking. We had a few friends over for a braai, and that was a problem. We were sitting outside during the day with just my sister, and that too was a problem because it was "Sunday". Absolutely ridiculous. It felt like a children's nursery where you constantly need to whisper because the kids are sleeping. The kicker was when you spoke to the woman in person, she couldn't hear you because she was hard of hearing, but miraculously she could "hear" us all the way from the back the minute you had a visitor. There is no oven, so it's not ideal for long stays because all you can cook on is a hot plate. There is no place where you can launder clothes, which is a challenge when travelling with a kid. The son, whom I assume is the owner but does not reside on the premises, was very helpful and responsive when we had issues with the unit. I think I would rate it better if it wasn't for the mother who was constantly complaining about noise as if the place was big enough to host any guest inside, so you are forced to sit outside whether it's raining or scorching hot.
