Description
De Kamp Gasteplaas is a working sheep farm situated on the edge of Namaqualand near Vanrhynsdorp, approximately 15 km along the R27 route. The property serves as a convenient overnight stop for travellers en route to Namibia, the Kgalagadi and is a must for flower tourists, with access via a 3.4 km farm road leading to the main farmhouse.
The property offers 2 private self-catering units attached to the main farmhouse. Tjienkerientjee is an open-plan unit that accommodates 2 guests. The unit is equipped with a double bed, a wall-mounted TV with DStv, a fan, and storage space, as well as a separate bathroom with a shower, basin, and toilet.
Vinkel en Koljander accommodates 2 to 4 guests and features an open-plan layout that includes a double bed. The en-suite bathroom contains a bath, shower, basin, and toilet. The separate bedroom has 2 single beds for additional sleeping space, and this room is serviced by an optional outdoor unit with a shower, basin, and toilet.
Both units are equipped with kitchenettes that include essential appliances, dining tables suitable for 2 guests, and coffee stations with homemade rusks. Linen, bath towels, and Wi-Fi are provided.
Guests have access to private braai facilities and an outdoor seating area. Tjienkerientjee features outdoor scullery facilities. Firewood is available on-site.
The farm itself and the surrounding area are a well-known seasonal wildflower paradise, offering opportunities to experience farm life and explore the natural landscapes of nearby Namaqualand.
