Description
De Kamp Guest Farm is a working sheep farm situated on the edge of Namaqualand, approximately 15 km from Vanrhynsdorp along the R27. Access to the property is via a 3.4 km farm road leading to the main farmhouse. The guest farm serves as an ideal overnight stop for travellers en route to Namibia or the Kgalagadi, and is a popular destination during the annual Namaqualand wildflower season.
Accommodation is offered in 3 private self-catering units, comprising 2 units adjoining the main farmhouse and a separate cottage. Tjienkerientjee is an open-plan unit that can accommodate 2 guests and is furnished with a double bed. Vinkel en Koljander can accommodate between 2 and 4 guests and comprises an open-plan sleeping area furnished with a double bed, as well as a separate bedroom furnished with 2 single beds. Each unit features a private bathroom, while the second bedroom in Vinkel en Koljander is served by an optional external bathroom. Bloukalossie is a cosy cottage with an intimate living area, ideal for guests seeking a peaceful farm stay.
Each unit includes a well-equipped kitchenette with the essentials for self-catering, a dining area, and a coffee station where guests can enjoy complimentary homemade rusks. Additional amenities include free Wi-Fi, linen, bath towels, and fans. Guests also have access to private braai facilities and outdoor seating areas, while Tjienkerientjee offers an outdoor dishwashing area. Firewood is available on the property, and Bloukalossie features both an indoor braai and a traditional boma braai.
The surrounding area is renowned for its spectacular spring wildflower displays, making De Kamp Guest Farm an excellent base from which to explore Namaqualand while enjoying the tranquillity of a working sheep farm.
