The cancellation one day before the stay was really upsetting for four ladies who had travelled far to participate in Two Oceans. I called Rhodes Place repeatedly on the day of check-in and only got an answering service. When we arrived, the receptionist of the building said she could not help us. We spent two hours calling around trying to get hold of the website or the owner's representative.
After many calls and WhatsApps, we were informed that we would have to pay extra for parking, WiFi and a breakage deposit, and they still refused to provide any further information. We were only able to check in at 7:30 pm that evening, which was a really bad experience for four ladies travelling from the countryside, and the vehicle was parked on a yellow line.
This was really poor service on both sides and an unpleasant experience. I am really disappointed — in all the years that I have used the website as a regular customer, I have never experienced anything so unpleasant. My fellow travelers were more than upset, and this while we wanted to check in earlier so we could get ready and sleep early for our marathon the next day.

Die kansellasie een dag voor die verblyf was regtig onstellend vir vier dames wat ver gereis het om aan Two Oceans deel te neem. Ek het Rhodes Place aanhoudend gebel op die dag van inboek en net ’n antwoorddiens gekry. Toe ons daar aankom, het die ontvangsdame van die gebou gesê sy kan ons nie help nie. Ons het vir twee ure rondgebel om die webtuiste of die eienaar se verteenwoordiger in die hande te kry.
Na vele oproepe en WhatsApps is ons ingelig dat ons ekstra moet betaal vir parkering, WiFi en ’n breekskadedeposito, en hulle het steeds geweier om verdere inligting te verskaf. Ons kon eers teen 19:30 die aand inboek, wat ’n regtig slegte ervaring was vir vier dames wat van die platteland af reis, en die voertuig was geparkeer op ’n geel streep.
Dit was regtig swak diens aan beide kante en ’n onsmaaklike ervaring. Ek is regtig teleurgesteld — in al die jare wat ek die webtuiste gebruik het as gereelde kliënt, het ek nog nooit só iets onsmaaklik ervaar nie. My medereisigers was meer as onsteld, en dit terwyl ons vroeër wou inboek sodat ons kon regmaak en vroeg slaap vir ons marathon die volgende dag.
