Description
Big Tree Cottage is a delightful self-catering unit with its own private entrance, located on the owner’s property in the quaint village of Graafwater. Surrounded by scenic mountains, it offers a tranquil and cosy retreat from which to explore the region. The cottage is conveniently situated approximately 30 km from both Lamberts Bay and Clanwilliam, and about 250 km from Cape Town.
This cottage can accommodate up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Each bedroom is comfortably furnished with a double bed, while the shared bathroom is fitted with a shower over the bath. Linen and bath towels are provided. If only one bedroom is booked, the second bedroom will be locked and unavailable for use. For bookings of 3 or 4 guests, both bedrooms will be made available.
The unit features a well-equipped kitchen that includes a gas stove, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery, and a bar fridge. The lounge and dining area offer comfortable seating for guests to relax and enjoy meals together. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Outside, guests can unwind on the patio with braai facilities under a large wild fig tree, home to a variety of birdlife. Secure on-site parking is provided. Nearby attractions include the Cederberg Mountains for hiking and birdwatching, Lamberts Bay for fresh seafood, and Clanwilliam with its historical sites and Rooibos tea fields. The Olifants River is also ideal for fishing and scenic drives. The cottage is stoma-friendly and includes a bidet in the bathroom.
