Tigers’ Lair Dorsland Cottage is a charming, restored farmhouse cottage situated on a working farm in the Hardap region, just 18 km from Aranos. Surrounded by expansive open plains, red sands, and the tranquil rhythm of farm life, the cottage offers an authentic Kalahari retreat for guests seeking peace, space, and simplicity.
Here, the sounds of the city are replaced by birdcalls, wide horizons, and clear, star-filled skies at night. Dorsland Cottage is ideal for couples, small families, or friends looking to unwind and reconnect with nature.
The cottage accommodates up to 4 guests and comprises 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. The main bedroom is furnished with a double bed and opens onto a private patio with outdoor seating and an outdoor shower, perfect for a refreshing shower under the open sky. The second bedroom contains 2 single beds. The shared bathroom is fitted with both a bath and a shower. Bed linen and towels are provided.
The unit features a well-equipped kitchenette with a microwave, electric braai pan, oven, cutlery, crockery, and a fridge. Meals can be enjoyed at the dining table, which seats 4 guests comfortably. A laundry area with a washing machine is also available for guests’ convenience.
Outside, a lovely patio with seating and a fire pit invites guests to relax, watch the sunset, and enjoy the peaceful farm surroundings. The immediate area around the cottage can be explored, and guests wishing to do more can enquire on arrival about walking trails, cycling routes, birdwatching, and other farm activities.
