Our stay was satisfactory despite no air con in our room. Lovely entrance hall and modern decor, and it has potential. The hotel was actually pleasant, the cleaning staff were very friendly, the pool was very nice, but the main family room we stayed in with our children (closer to the pool side - not facing the ocean) didn’t have an air conditioner! Unfortunately, this affected our experience negatively. An air con in a room like that is a non-negotiable. It was like a sauna. The mobile air cooler that the owner provided made no difference. The space of the family unit was good even though we all slept in the lounge in order to benefit from the air con from the other bedroom. There was not enough crockery: no tin can opener, not enough sharp knives, no colander, no braai tongs, and no kettle that plugged into the wall. The bathrooms were very good except for rotten wood under the sinks (both rooms). The bin area in the kitchen - the wooden section fell apart. There was a cracked glass coffee table when we arrived. The driveway was very steep and scratched my husband’s car. WiFi was intermittent and needs a booster.

For clarity, we were very clear about one of the units having air conditioning while the other having a fan prior to your booking, which was disclosed prior to arrival. Nonetheless, we still provided an air cooler, a baby cot, and responded to numerous additional requests throughout your stay. Our staff also went well beyond their normal self-catering duties to clean the unit during your entire stay, despite this not being part of standard service. We further accommodated an early check-in, even though our policy clearly states check-in is from 2:00 PM. While we always aim to please, it is not always possible to meet every expectation, even when significant effort is made. We appreciate the feedback and wish you all the best going forward.
