Foreshore
Description
The Foreshore constitutes 145ha of land in the Northern section of the Cape Town central that was reclaimed from the sea in the 1930s and 1940s using huge quantities of sand and silt. Even the old harbour, promenade and original beaches were permanently covered over in the reclamation process.
