"Such a lovely little town to overnight in. Africa's only book town; the Main Street is lined with little book shops where you can find many old classics. The MAPS Gallery is a definite must-see, housing a host of different artist's installations. The streets are quiet and safe, we will definitely go back."
"I stayed in Richmond in July and December 2019. Richmond has an Art Gallery that is quite interesting. The restaurant Krip supplied a good meal. The town has a peaceful atmosphere. One feels fairly safe and people are friendly and have a helpful attitude. Richmond is not really a destination town but a stop-over place for one night. I will probably stop over again some time. "
"It being a public holiday, most places were closed. The highlight was the gem we discovered - MAPSA. The young man showed us around, interesting art and the accommodation looked great. Would definitely consider staying at MAPSA should we overnight again in Richmond. "

"After stopping at every restaurant in Richmond at 18:15 on a Friday night trying to get a spot for dinner, we were shown away because they were closing for the night. I stopped at the Caltex garage two properties away from the Three Birds Country House and found a Restaurant linked to it. Well, we ordered dinner for 4 people and the lady there asked where we are staying and that they will bring the food to us the moment it is done. Wonderfully presented, on plates they delivered our order to us. They saved Richmond from a destination I would never visit again."

"Die dorp se skoon strate was opvallend. Ons het deur die dorp gery. Net jammer dat papiere en rommel die rivier by die hout bruggie ontsier. Dalk is 'n gemeenskapspoging hiervoor nodig?"

"Definitief nie baie geskik vir oorslaap op 'n Sondagnag nie. Die dorp gaan letterlik dood en eetplekke is deur die bank toe. Die enigste eetplek wat ons kon vind was baie teleurstellend - al die wyn op die spyskaart was uitverkoop en so ook karoo tjops!"
"'n Baie interessante dorp met baie potensiaal. Museum was baie interessant met 'n vriendelike ontvangs en die boekehuise is 'n moet. Ons was verbaas oor die goeie supermark en wat alles daar beskikbaar is."
