"The 16 mile (25 km) beach is great for long walks or just for a dip in the water. Suitable for surfing or body boarding. We didn't try the local restaurants. A little mall is at the entrance of the housing area which includes a big Spar and a barber. The ABSA ATM is across the street. Even closer to our accommodation was a petrol station and a range of shops including a pharmacy. There is a harbour in Yzerfontein. The drive there is quite nice. Langebaan is 43 mins drive from Yzerfontein. We drove there to visit the Shark Bay hotel, watch the kite surfers on the lagoon and to have lunch at the Roxy Beach restaurant. There are a few small restaurants along the main beach."

"Paternoster is 'n pragtige dorpie met baie potensiaal, maar tans is die dorpie vuil en rommel lê orals rond, veral in oop erwe waar onwettige storting gedoen word. Dit kom voor asof daar nie 'n polisieteenwoordigheid is om wet en orde te handhaaf nie en die plaaslike bevolking tree op asof besoekers indringers is wat uitgebuit moet word. Hopelik verander dit in die toekoms. Ons sal graag weer kom kuier."
"If you are wanting to just chill and kick back then St Helena Bay is your vibe, not much to do in terms of activities, however, Paternoster is just a drive away offering lots to do."
"Although we were in Britania Bay which is 10 km away, I will prefer it there instead of St Helena Bay purely, because of the bigger beach area. Otherwise the whole area in general is really peaceful and very relaxed."
"Hierdie was ons eerste besoek aan Dwarskersbos en ons het oombliklik verlief geraak op die pragtige skoon strand, mooiste sonsondergange en rustige atmosfeer. Daar is geen ander plek waar ons 'n seevakansie sal wil kom hou nie. Dwarskersbos het ons harte vir ewig gesteel."
"Die natuur is pragtig en dis heerlik op die strand. Daar is lieflike restaurante en koffiewinkels. Ons glo daar is ook beter verblyf beskikbaar, maar mens moet wegbly van die hawe af."
"Slightly overrated. Weather can be miserable at times, and a lot of the beachfront is hard to access. Lots of development in the last 10 years. Prefer places like Lekker Rus, which is situated further away from the hustle and bustle."

"Main beach definitely needs some cleaning. Some of the best restaurants such as De See Kat, Voorstrandt and Gaaitjie are there. Just love the little town. Such a beautiful place to visit and close to many beautiful towns."
