Beautiful apartment, no air conditioning, unspeakably hot in summer. The recommendation to a friend is conditional: in winter, yes; in summer, no. The apartment does not have air conditioning and it was unbelievably hot, requiring two cold showers on the day of arrival. I opened the balcony door and left it open the whole time I was there. I then had a ceiling fan and a standing fan blowing on me in bed to be able to get to sleep. Maybe an extra fan in the bedroom? What was also frustrating is that the lift was not working. I am not a young man and 8 flights of steps became a mission as I was in and out going to the Mining Indaba. The first time I got there, they had a 4-number combination key box but gave me an 8-digit code. Only after phoning did I realise that the code goes into the door handle! Never seen one of those, but cool. The light switches with dimmers were something else: it took me until the second day to find the light switches for the sitting area, located behind a curtain. Those are the negatives. Positives: a beautiful apartment! Comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water (though hardly used any due to the heat). All the fittings: many appliances if you want to cook.
