Please note that the swimming pool and jacuzzi are not covered by safety nets, and the pool/jacuzzi area is not fenced off. The unit is not serviced daily; however, for stays of 5 nights or more, a cleaning service with linen change can be arranged at an additional cost. Stays of 7 nights or longer include one complimentary cleaning with linen change.

Please note that AquaPalms Hideaway is only suitable for a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children under 18) or a maximum of 3 adults. The sleeper couch is not suitable for 2 adults.

We have no problem with good old fashioned fun, however we do object to loud music and parties. The idea behind our hideaway is for a peaceful, tranquil, relaxed and hassle free stay.

Please enjoy our complimentary bottled water and milk in the refrigerator. We have also supplied complimentary coffee, regular tea, rooibos tea and sugar.

VISITORS:

We allow a maximum of 2 day visitors per day (including children) by prior arrangement. Day visitors must vacate the premises by no later than 8pm.

NETFLIX:

There is a Netflix channel named “Guest”, please feel free to use this service.

ALARM (Optional - as we have a fully functional electric fence working in conjunction with the main house alarm 24/7):

Optional - There is a wireless black handheld device marked “Alarm” plugged in on the braai counter top which controls the beam in your garden, this beam is connected to Button 4 on the handheld device. To activate visual and audible alerts, press the button until red. Depress button 4 to deactivate. Please keep on charge.

JACUZZI USAGE AND OPERATION:

The jacuzzi is on a remote automatic timer, controlled by the hosts, which switches on at 9am in the morning and turns off at 9pm at night.

During the summer months we try to take full advantage of the sun and run the water of the jacuzzi through solar panels situated on the roof, therefore the pump (Button 1) must be on to circulate through the panels and heat the jacuzzi. Button 1 (controls the pump) - the white button closest to the pool is the button to switch the pump on and off to warm via the solar panels. If you find the water getting too hot during the day, simply push the pump button 1 to stop the heating. Electrical heating will switch on automatically in the evening from 4pm until 9pm. Should you find the water getting too hot during this time, kindly contact the host to remotely stop the heating.
When you are not going to be using the Jacuzzi for the day / night, please be considerate and inform the hosts so that we may turn this facility off, in order to not waste excessive electricity.
There is a net located next to the jacuzzi, this is used to clear the top of the water in the jacuzzi.

STRICTLY NO DRINKING GLASSES OR GLASSWARE ARE TO BE USED WHILE IN THE POOL OR JACUZZI, WE HAVE SUPPLIED PLASTIC DRINKING GLASSES. ALSO PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ADDING ANY BUBBLES, DETERGENTS, OIL ETC TO THE POOL OR JACUZZI. EITHER OF THE ABOVE ACTIONS COULD RESULT IN IT BEING NECESSARY TO DRAIN THE POOL OR JACUZZI INCURRING UNNECESSARY COSTS FOR THE GUESTS ACCOUNT.

SWIMMING POOL:

The swimming pool will automatically come on to filter the pool at designated times, this is also controlled remotely by the hosts. Should you wish to change these times or turn this off, please contact us to do so. All this can be done remotely by the hosts. The pool cleaning equipment is readily available for use by the guests.

SWIMMING POOL / JACUZZI SAFETY:

Please note that there is no safety net covering the swimming pool or the jacuzzi and the pool area / jacuzzi area is not fenced off. Please ensure the safety of all guests and visitors.

SWIMMING POOL LIGHT:

The swimming pool light can be turned on and off by yourself, the guest, by using the little silver / black remote found on the main table. Use button A to turn the light on and off. Please remember to turn it off once you have finished using it.

MAIN ENTRANCE:

The main entrance light has solar lighting and is monitored by CCTV. Kindly refrain from leaving any valuables visible in your vehicle, even though we are in a very safe area, sadly the world is full of opportunists looking to take what does not belong to them.

GARDEN LIGHTS:

The Garden lights will automatically turn on and off at a pre-set time.

OUTSIDE LIGHTS:

The outside lights are also controlled remotely and will come on and go off at designated times, should you wish these times changed, kindly contact the host to arrange.
BRAAI FACILITIES:

Please make full use of both the outdoor weber-like braai facilities and the indoor braai / fireplace facilities. We have supplied limited complimentary wood and fire starters to get you started, however should you require more, kindly provide this yourself.
Please only use the outdoor braai where you find it on arrival, DO NOT use it on the synthetic grass area.

GARDEN ACCESSORIES:

When using the cushions for the outside chairs and the umbrella, kindly bring these inside at night and in the case of bad weather or rain.
SOFA BED:
The linen for the sofa bed can be found in a plastic container in the braai room, kindly also use the mattress protector when making up the sofa bed.

AMBIENCE LIGHTING:

There are 3 areas with ambience lighting. These are operated by small white light switches.
