Description
Bateleur Lodge is a self-catering bush retreat situated within the renowned Mabalingwe Nature Reserve near Bela-Bela. Surrounded by indigenous bushveld and abundant wildlife, the lodge offers guests the opportunity to experience the tranquillity of nature while remaining within easy reach of the reserve's restaurants, recreational facilities, reception area, and caravan park. The elevated setting also provides excellent opportunities for game viewing and scenic bushveld vistas.
The lodge can accommodate up to 14 guests and comprises a main house and 2 detached cottages. The main house features 2 bedrooms with en-suite shower bathrooms. The first bedroom is furnished with a double bed, while the second bedroom contains 2 single beds. A third bathroom fitted with a shower serves the loft area, which contains 2 single sleeper couches. The 2 cottages are each furnished with a double bed and 2 single beds and feature en-suite bathrooms fitted with showers. Bed linen, bath towels, wardrobes, and extra pillows and blankets are provided for guests' convenience.
The fully equipped kitchen in the main house contains a stove, oven, microwave, fridge-freezer, kettle, toaster, and essential self-catering appliances. The living area offers comfortable seating, a Smart TV with full DStv, air conditioning throughout, and a fireplace for cooler evenings. Complimentary Wi-Fi access is also provided. Catering services can be arranged on request.
Guests can enjoy a private outdoor swimming pool, a wood-fired braai area, a fire pit, a garden, patio, and outdoor dining spaces. Secure parking is available on-site. Activities within Mabalingwe Nature Reserve include game drives, bush walks, Big Five game viewing, horse riding, archery, swimming, tennis, squash, and spa facilities, offering a memorable bushveld experience for families, groups of friends, and corporate travellers alike.
