Betty’s Boutique Hotel offers bed and breakfast and is a historically beautiful house in Mossel Bay that was built in 1903 from limestone. The hotel oozes class and elegance from a bygone era, and as such, is recognised as a building of historical interest by the Heritage Society.
Accommodation at Betty’s Boutique Hotel is offered in 6 luxury bedrooms. Three of these bedrooms are located in the main house, and the other 3 are located separately in the courtyard and gardens to offer more privacy. Each room can accommodate 2 guests and features an en-suite bathroom. Each room contains air-conditioning and a flat-screen TV with selected DStv channels. Children up to the age of 12 can be accommodated on a children's bed only in The Royal or Rose Suites, at an extra cost; please note only one child per room is allowed.
The famous a la carte breakfast menu is served, as well as an English afternoon tea, every Wednesday and Saturday, by prior booking. The well-manicured gardens feature a large private pool with sun loungers and various seating areas. There is a braai area that guests can use during their stay. The large, comfortable lounge features an Edwardian fireplace and a large TV with selected DStv channels. This room also features a pool table with windows looking out over the gardens to the sea and mountains.
The hotel also has a well-stocked bar named ‘Speakeasy Bar’ that is located on the lower level, where you can enjoy special cocktails, wine and tapas. Please book your tapas table before arrival or in the morning after breakfast, as space is limited.
The house has a huge stoep and boasts amazing gardens with a view out to the Indian Ocean and the Outeniqua Mountains. The gardens feature a children’s play area with a treehouse, swings, a seesaw, and a sandpit. Betty’s Boutique Hotel is run solely by the owners and their family, and is called Betty’s after the owner's mother, who loved tea and fine china.
