Bullrush Cottage is set in an indigenous garden on the southern slopes of Table Mountain in a secure, gated, eco-conscious estate in Hout Bay. This bright, clean and beautifully maintained garden cottage accommodates two people very comfortably.
This 1-bedroom unit is furnished with a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with both a bath and shower. The comfortably appointed open-plan lounge and dining area opens directly onto a private patio with outdoor furniture and a Weber kettle BBQ. The fully equipped kitchen features a hob, oven, double-door fridge-freezer, microwave and filter coffee machine. The cottage has a TV with satellite reception and a wide selection of premium channels. Guests are welcome to use the small communal swimming pool in the garden.
The cottage has high-speed fibre Wi-Fi supported by a UPS for continuous connection. During scheduled power outages, the cottage is equipped with a gas stove and rechargeable lighting to minimise disruption. In winter, electric blankets, hot-water bottles and a wall heater help keep the cottage cosy.
For longer stays, the cottage is serviced weekly, with linen and towels changed. Secure parking is available on-site next to the cottage, which has its own private entrance and patio.
The estate is security-conscious, with 24-hour manned security, and guests are required to provide identification on arrival. Within the estate, guests can enjoy the landscaped indigenous fynbos gardens, ponds and streams, with paths suitable for a leisurely stroll or mountain walk. Guests can access the mountain directly from the estate and enjoy the easy walk towards Myburghs Ravine and its waterfall. Depending on the season, guests may spot the rare Red Disa orchid, as well as one of the resident leopard tortoises.
Hout Bay offers a wonderful balance of nature and convenience. Guests can enjoy the beach, harbour, restaurants and weekend market, or explore Chapman's Peak, the Cape Peninsula and the main attractions of Cape Town.
Bullrush Cottage is best suited to guests looking for a peaceful, comfortable and private base from which to experience Cape Town.
