De Volkshuijs offers charming self-catering accommodation in a National Monument. Instantly feel at home.
Make your choice of the spacious Sakkie-cottage or cosy Saartjie-cottage, or book both. Each cottage has a bedroom with a double bed, bedside tables and a built-in cupboard. White bed linen and towels, double electric blankets and heaters are provided for the comfort of our guests. Each living room is furnished with 2 single beds, a wooden dining table with seating for 4 plus a flat-screen TV with local channels.
The full bathroom of Sakkie-cottage has a bathtub and a shower. Saartjie-cottage has an en suite bathroom with a shower, wash basin and toilet.
The kitchen of each cottage is equipped with an electric stove and oven, microwave and refrigerator with freezer as well as ironing board and iron. The wooden cupboards are built-in and very neat. Coffee, tea, milk, sugar and rusks welcome our guests.
Each cottage has its own private courtyard with vine covered pergola and cobble paving. Traditional barbecue facilities are provided. The parking areas are secure to ensure your peace of mind.
We offer families the unique chance of relaxing in a cosy, well equipped historic slave's cottage, close to town. Share good times at the dining table or under the covered pergola or play games on the lawn. Feel at home, safe and cared for.
Both cottages are fitted with an alarm system for peace of mind.
