Description

Die Akker Campsite is located on Allendale Farm in Citrusdal, at the foot of the Cederberg Mountains. It is an ideal destination for guests seeking a peaceful and relaxing nature getaway.

Each campsite is equipped with a 12V Anderson plug intended for lighting only. Please note that there is no Eskom electricity available, and guests are required to bring their own power sources, such as solar panels or similar systems.

The ablution facilities are fitted with solar- and gas-powered geysers. To maintain the traditional camping experience, however, 50% of the showers are supplied with hot water from a wood-fired water heater (donkey).

Campers who wish to use the donkey-heated showers are required to light a small fire in the heater approximately 45 minutes before showering to ensure the water is warm. Wood for the donkey heater is provided, but this wood may only be used for heating the water and not for personal fires.

Guests therefore have the option of using either the gas-heated showers or the donkey-heated showers. Braai facilities are available next to the dam for guests to enjoy.
